Making Medicine

After the recent rain here we have Farmers Friends (also called Bidens, or Cobblers Pegs) growing everywhere. So I decided to harvest some and make a fresh plant tincture. This Herb/Weed is an amazing Anti-viral, Anti- biotic and urinary system medicine. I had fun making it into medicine to share...

Wow that’s awesome Jacinta. I’ve had two friends recently who’ve had serious urinary tract infections. Would this help them? If so, how wld they use it and can they buy from you?
One is a teenage girls and the other mentioned she normally uses a herb that is unavailable since TGA “disapproved” it.
Beautiful photo of you btw 🤗

Hi Ange Oh Id love to catch up soon! I miss you.., teaching a lot on tuesdays so havent been able to meet up.
Yes Biden's is an amazing urinary tract herb. Its great as a tincture and we have it at Mullum Herbals. Or as a fresh plant infusion its also realy good. Id be open to teaching people about it and other simple potent weeds, so that's coming one day soon I hope! Its empowering to be able to go and harvest a plant and use it as tea or in food and heal oneself. Bidens is best infused soon after picking for 5 to 10 minutes and then drink. Fresh is best! All the parts of the plant are used. Hope this helps.. love ya Jaz

This is great info Jacinta. I learned doing a Permaculture course many years back that lots of weeds have healing properties. So It's great to hear about the healing properties of Farmers Friends. I learnt in that course how farmers sometimes plant them around other small trees and plants to protect them from other more invasive weeds. Also seem to remember that they put nitrogen into the soil to support the growing plants. I've was devouring cucumbers during the hot weather too.. cold soups, salads etc... love xxxx

Yes Bidens Pilosa is a great food, medicine, and benefits the soil and the other plants.
